SUMMER SALE

The big news is that most of my apps are on sale until 20th August 2026! All apps except my cheapest and free ones are reduced by $5.

DOTTIE

My pixel art app is finally released after a year or so of development. I’m super proud of it, and am looking forward to improving it over the coming months. Please spread the word to any pals that paint pixels!

BELTRUNNER

I released a game for GMTKjam 2026! Made in 96 hours. It’s a spin (pun intended) on Asteroids, where I layer on a few classic gameplay tricks to change it into a different type of game, more of a survival racer, with a ton more risk and reward and a high skill ceiling. The web version is free to play, and for $5 you can access downloads for macOS, Linux handhelds (Anbernic, etc), Nintendo Wii (sideload), and Sega Dreamcast (sideload; experimental lower frame rate…for now).

This is the first released game made using Jinks. What is that you say?

JINKS

Jinks is my totally new way to make games. It was an idea I had whilst waiting for takeoff to fly back from Japan back in February. I asked myself "how would I like to make games if I wasn’t tied to any existing methods" and this is what I came up with. It’s a multi-platform engine, innovative IDE, and a language of sorts. I’m slowly revealing more about it as time goes on and as it becomes more solidified in my mind and on disk. Big plans!

KATANA

Dreamcast testing involves copying images to SD card, which was a pain with a .NET Mono app called GDMENU Card Manager. So I wrote my own, using all the tricks available, which means that it’s about 1000x faster and much more pleasant to use.

PAPERTRAIL

This is, somewhat surprisingly, my most popular app at the moment. It’s a great companion to the official TaskPaper macOS app (by Jesse Grosjean) and it’s been humbling to see it used by so many people.

Y2K

I published a blog post containing a bunch of photos from when I was working at a digital agency around Y2K. Work hard, play hard, photo hard. It’s fun to look back at all the stuff we took for granted back then and how cool it still looks. MiniDisc, Dreamcast, iMacs, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Nokia, ColdFusion!

BENQ

Not sponsored! I upgraded from a BenQ RD280UA (pivot arm; 60Hz; great) to a RD280UG (pivot stand; 120Hz; higher contrast; amazing) and I am even happier than I was before. It paid for itself in a month due to my increased productivity. Can recommend whole heartedly. I use it almost exclusively in portrait orientation, with one window in each half of the display, and one long page of code at the press of a button. I’ve also been using its PIP feature to test BELTRUNNER on Wii and Dreamcast.

And I created a monitor control app because the BenQ one is a real monster:

STILL IN THE OVEN…

TATEBANKO

I am seeking licensing rights for some images, which has delayed its release.

SNAP SHOT GOLF

A casual golf game where you can create golf courses from any photo, or just play infinite random courses.

2UP

This is my Mac-Assed dual-pane file manager that works more like "Twin Finder". I use it every day and it makes managing files a pleasure. I hope that App Store review will bless it for release some time soon.

SPINDLE

This is my multi-drive optical disc dumper. Close to release, I just need to put some time aside to give it a final session and write some App Store copy.

Until next time… have fun!
